I worked at Exxon Refinery in Baton Rouge in 1973-1974. They definitely had a green CRT, allegedly for a computer which remotely controlled gauges and dials and pumps that had formerly been manually controlled. I remember this well because I used to fiddle with it.

I remember the year well because I had just turned 21 when I got the job, and 21 was the minimum age.

I think there was a dot matrix printer but can't be sure.

If I recall correctly, Exxon was the biggest corporation in the world back then, and the Baton Rouge Refinery was the biggest refinery in America, maybe in the world, so you would expect them to have the latest, most expensive technology.

Many years later I wondered why they let a trainee play with such expensive machinery, and decided that maybe it was really a dummy.
