no, the drop was the lack of growth in the forecast, and the fact that they just made their numbers last time around, as opposed to blowing out like every other time. Since the search engines were on fire last xmas people had high hopes for ebay and they didn't materialize.

as far as the stock split, they probably planned it in advance of the numbers, and growing companies need more shares anyway as new employees come on and you want to give them stock. So the split is no surprise to me.
