His major problem is watching Sharon be the one who provides the tipping point. He has hated him ever since his first assignment in Lebanon when Sharon invaded and screwed up.

You will know that Sharon has succeeded when Friedman starts writing about how Sharon was just lucky enough to be in power when Arafat died.
