HP may be tempted to bring in a "Chainsaw Al" lookalike and alienate enterprise customers (if they haven't already).

And others will finally begin to erode their printer near-monopoly.

All JMHO.

Fine ideas, but why? All that happened is they removed the CEO. The company remains profitable, is growing faster than IBM and SUNW, and doesn't require "Chainsaw" type changes.

Frankly, I'm mystified as to why Fiorina was fired given the above. HPQ missed only one of the preceding 5 quarters, in other words they made or beat 4 of the preceding 5 quarters. That is above average execution, not the type of thing that usually get the boss forcibly removed!

I think there is something under the sheets we don't know about, because HPQ's fundamental performance since the merger has been OK, not terrible.
