Hi Vendit and Walkingshadow,

Thanks for the tremendous job you both do on this thread. Very impressive. I'm new to TA and I'm finding this board to be a wonderful resource. I suspect I'll ask loads of elementary questions in the future, so I hope you'll bear with me! :-)

A while back, mchjc from the AAPL thread had recommended a book to me entitled Technical Analysis of Stock Trends by Robert Edwards. Although I procrastinated a bit, the book is finally on order and I should receive it soon. I'd welcome any other suggestions you might have in terms of books, etc. for someone starting from scratch.

To start off, I have an ultra basic question. The seasoned traders on this thread may want to go ahead and skip to the next post! :-) In the (excellent) charts that you provide, what is the difference between the black markers (are these the candlesticks to which there has been reference?) and the white markers? As I said, I haven't received the book yet so I'm truly starting from the beginning here. My apologies to everyone on the board!

Also, if you don't mind my asking a stock specific question -- what are your current thoughts regarding YHOO? Any signs of support and a turnaround? I'd be eager to hear your take on the stock at present. (Of course I should have asked this question BEFORE I bought the stock! I'm already down a few dollars. :-))
