Consumer sales proved the weakest point for Dell, with sales up 10% from the same quarter last year. Still, consumer sales also represent the thinnest profit margins, and Dell executives said they avoided aggressively driving sales in this area. "We're balancing share gains there with reasonable levels of profitability," Schneider said.

I don't think you can attribute it to the "switch." :)

I discovered the other day that 85% of Dell's revenue comes from the corporate side. Corporate customers complained when Dell outsourced tech support to India, so Dell relented and brought most of it back to the US. Guess who is still stuck with Indian "Customer Care?"
