The families that I know personally - in particular the parents of a good friend of mine who was killed - consider such theories ridiculous.

I certainly wouldn't represent that all of them feel that way, but here's a quote from a victim's family member [note, Don Earl, a link is included] from today's AM New York - see the center, bottom of page 4.
