If you're GOOG management, it's not in your best interest to have the company's stock fall off a cliff for no reason at all but a lockup expiration.

Although I have no info on this I have to believe, and Lizzie has made a case for it as well, that much of the stock that is going to be sold has been placed and will not see the open market.

GOOG WILL eventually become an index stock. The institutions WILL have to buy it one day. You can buy now at $187 or you can buy it a year from now at $300.
