Ben:

VW diesels sport a "TDI" tag in their back ends.... which stands for "turbo - direct injection". These engines put out a ton of torque, are reliable and (once warmed up) are quite smooth. Their mileage is simply amazing. Most get 55 mpg without any special driving techniques.... and that is at Canadian "highway speeds". (g)

Best, Earlie
