appears Gergen agrees with nytimes. "This is too high a price to pay for someone who has given so much of himself over 20 years. Journalism ,, international executive says american military go after journalists and kill them at will. What's the matter with planting the seed in their minds. using these words in Arab/European world to further hate of American military.. Gergen... Why did he say it in the first place? He didn't just dream it up or pull the statement out of thin air. we have to be careful of Gergen statements. We have a picture of gergen values. he has shown to us he didn't think the past actions of Jordan were serious enough to offer resignation. In other words Gergen accepts what Jordan says as normal liberal journalism. It's ok to ignore what Saddam is doing in order to stay in Bagdad and not really report what is happening but report Saddam lies on nightly cnn while other journalists were kicked out for reporting real news.
