The conflict in Iran seems to be a matter of when, not if, unless the Mullahs in Iran cave in to Western and Israeli pressure. The recent announcement by N. Korea that they have nuclear weapons surely makes the likelihood of intervention greater.

On the one hand, it is frustrating and the height of hypocrisy for the nuclear powers to impose non-nuclear proliferation policy, (don't do as I do) but what choice does the world have? Nuclear conflict anywhere on the globe is unthinkable. It is especially grating to realize that the U.S. is the only country to have used these weapons of mass destruction, still possesses and develops them, while disallowing others to have them.

But do we really have any alternatives? Seems like we just have to trust the nuclear powers to never use these weapons even if it means we have to hold our noses.

Ironically, unless Iran gives in to pressure, it may well suffer the same fate as Iraq which didn't actually have any W.M.D.'s. or even a credible nuclear program.
