How's everybody doing?

I just thought I'd drop in to point out that our President is misleading the people again.

Let's ignore his overstatements about how Social Security will be "broke" by 2018. Of course, it will only be starting to pay out more than it takes in at that time, which isn't the same as being broke.

My problem is that he says the system is going to go broke, and we must take action. I'll agree with him on that. Action is required. But the only action he suggests is to allow people to divert 4% of their FICA contributions to private accounts. That doesn't solve the problem. It doesn't even address the problem.

Not only do private accounts do nothing to address the problem of Social Security being underfunded in a bit more than a decade, they would actually make the underfunding occur sooner and get worse faster.

Why do Republicans let the President get away with this kind of demagoguery?
And why do the Democrats keep missing the boat and failing to point it out?
