Printrak To Buy Microfilm Digital Conversion Equip Co.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Dow Jones)--Printrak International Inc. (AFIS) entered an agreement to acquire SunRise Imaging, a manufacturer of systems which digitize microfilm and microfiche.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

In a press release Tuesday, the company said following the tranaction, which is subject to shareholder approval, SunRise will operate as a unit of Printrak, with Steve Butterfield continuing as president and chief executive of SunRise.

SunRise, Fremont, Calif., had 1996 revenues of $9.04 million.

Printrak, which had 1996 revenues of $58.9 million, supplies integrated identification and information systems used primarily in criminal justice and public safety applications.
