Well I agree with you totally. I thought that years ago but the old phone companies want to delay installing fiber on poles as long as possible. I am getting a kick out all the cable companies now rolling out phone service... DSL wouldn't exist if the phone companies had not been so stubborn but I guess I can't blame them for not wanting to roll equipment to install fiber.... They just want that copper pair to last as long as possible! Labor is expensive but I see a lot more cable trucks rolling around town than phone company trucks..Guess who's making more money??!!

Eventually it will all be Fiber... there are just so many advantages with it!

Cisco is a mature growth company.. I just don't see demand for bandwidth growing that fast. The only way to get that Growth and demand for new generations of IP gear is Video in all it's different flavors to the house. That is going to take awhile.. My guess is at least 10 years... But it will happen.

Phone companies... What phone companies??
