"Utterly impossible" is a red herring. Murder isn't an accusation to be made lightly. Lightly tossing an allegation of deliberate murder into a public conversation in a serious venue and then immediately retracting it is a demonstration that the man in question was at best sensationalistic and at worst an airhead. Not worthy of respect either way. If he had a serious charge to make, he would have stuck to his guns.
