I agree with some of what you say, but I couldn't get past your use of the term "irregardless". Please say "regardless" or "irrespective", but not a combination of the two. ;)

Just giving you a hard time. My opinion is that you have to get truly punitive to get people to stop using gas vehicles, but the flaw in my not fully baked thought is that you'd kill the trucking and delivery business, who are comprised of the lower-middle class. And I hate that thought. But before we tax gas, there is a lot we can do to make hybrids and fuel cells more economically viable. Hybrids are already there and double our fuel efficiency.

As far as nuclear power, that will never live down the reputation of a technology that kills people, even though it is our most efficient energy. Too bad. But hybrid and fuel cell technology is unencumbered by that. Even if it takes alot of energy to use this energy, it replaces oil in our cars and that is the goal here.
