Mindmeld, Any U.S. plan should make sure the participants don't have choices that will be bad for them.

Participants ought to know that if they toss all of their retirement money into one company, they'll likely end up just like the investors and employees of Enron.

Of course, no one is willing to teach them about diversity and risk, so once again we're left with government protecting people from themselves. I personally think more education is always preferable over a bigger nanny state, but hey, I'm a "heartless swine." ;-)
