Since the NYT can no longer sell "the Mullahs have triumphed" as the meme, they have switched to "a weak government that can't put in reforms."

This must be especially humorous to inhabitants of countries with parliamentary systems, for whom 9 out of 10 governments are similarly "weak" coalition governments. What "reforms" is the Times talking about anyway? You can't reform something that is only just being invented - the new government's first job is to write a new constitution, for heaven's sake!

Expect to see politics being committed in Iraq, for the first time in a couple of generations. Expect to see the NYT continue to piss all over even better than expected outcomes.
