Exactly, plus there is one other characteristic of this aversion for USD, classic flucht in die sachwerte (flight to real goods). Exchanging Dollars (Old Maid Cards) for subways certainly qualifies as that in my book.

As far Mish's comment about some point of diminishing return on holding Euros, that could very well be the triggering to serious flucht in die sachwerte, where we get the $75 oil, $600 gold, etc, etc.

I wouldn't hold my breath on this one. If it's "just Thailand and Malaysia" doing this, then a serious crisis might be averted, but I'm sure not betting on that.
