Since there have been episodes of extreme heat, and ice ages, on earth since before humans were nothing more than primitive anthropoids, there could have been no correlation between the weather extremes, and human activity. Such extremes are just a cycle of weather conditions. It's just nature, and nothing more.
Yes, before humans there were cycles that were nothing more than nature.
Thus, there is no logic in connecting either global warming, or ice ages, with human activity.
You can't know that. Sure, we can expect the natural cycles to continue. Temperature goes up; temperature goes down. Just as it always has.
But since the industrial revolution there is an added variable, large human populations that have changed the planet. What makes you so sure that this additional variable will not exaggerate those natural cycles? Say, for example, that in this cycle we were scheduled to go up five degrees. When we add human activity to that, maybe the change would be bumped up to six or seven degrees. Humanity would have compounded the natural cycles.
I don't think there is any logic in disregarding the human impact. |
