Thomas, to all who may have missed my post to Steve. Steve, I apologize for making statements that you may have gained financially from criticizing Premier. Rather than pursue some lame line of reasoning, I'm willing to admit I was wrong there.
Thanks to Cisco for the legal beagle work. Thanks to Thomas for his comments, Tom Clyne for reminding us that ethics are what's important here. I feel that the priviledge of participating on a thread like this, or any other for that matter, carries certain obligations. One of them is admitting if we're wrong. I hope that we'll see Westy make a public statement here, concerning at least the disposition of the reward, if not an outright apology. Even sweepstakes have to give you a list of the winners if you send in a SASE.
Today's Interactive Edition of the WSJ contains an excellent article about chat boards and the financial markets. One comment addressed companys whose employees or hired PR people make disclosures to someone who then posts on a thread. The implication was that the company could be liable for "selective disclosure" , a violation of SEC policy requiring full disclosure. Recommended reading.
