Do you believe a 12 year old is able to intelligently consent to having sex with someone 20 years older than he is? Someone in a position of influence and authority over him?

I do believe some 12 year olds are, yes. Whether this one was I can't say. Not enough facts. But I have known 12 year olds perfectly capable of making mature decisions at that level.

After all, it wasn't long ago in history, as history runs, that marriage at age 11 or 12 was perfectly normal.
