Hi Herb,
Thanks for reading my post.
" I read into your post that there was still some risk of further downgrades, especially if the sell side speculation was spot on."
I am not so good with words. I was not at all hinting at that, nor do i care about such stuff. My thoughts in regards to that are as follows :
1. for those that don't know, "sell side" are the brokerage firms. firms which sell to the public. A "buy side" is independent, like a money manager.
2. i find it interesting that on yahoo boards, i didnt notice any chatter in aapl or cy boards.
3. i dont think there is any conspiracy whatsoever with sell sides (csfb and bsc) and their respective reports. Yet, I have seen neither.
4. I dont think fd is being violated. I think that sell sides probably got info from proper industry sources. perhaps cy, perhaps aapl, or perhaps other component makers.
5. My main point was that if there was to be a major announcement or news that was fundamentally business (not stock price) negative, the stock would drop immediately and quickly. hence, no investor would have time to exit. yet, if my hypothetical numbers to 2014 proved to be worst case, then i dont thing the worst case is so darned awful.
I dont know much about AAPL, but my guess is that quality would rule, and if so, why couldnt that eliminate syna (if legally okay) and bring in potential higher quality supplier.
its late, im babbling with words, but having fun.
peace
