Definitely grocery stores are cheaper for the main course if you buy high volume and freeze them, otherwise, it isn't always so.

Noticed you have junk food in your shopping list - beer and soda. Hm. I think I may have had a dessert once in September of 2004. Just don't like the taste of junk food.

Agreed. I remember craving some American food while in a foreign country, and ended up paying (gasp) $8 for a watermelon once.

Better yet, go out after Valentines day. There's this restaurant in the Bay Area that serves a Valentines day dinner for basically $100 on Valentines day, but if you go after Valentines day it's $25. Why pay $100 when you can pay $25 and get a little privacy to boot.
