SPOILER ALERT

SPOILER ALERT

I didn't like the plot twist because it seemed contrived ... I was aware that all she had to do is ask her doctor to disconnect the breathing machine. Also her redneck family was too much of a cliche.

I don't agree with the brouhaha over the disabled aspect. A good friend of mine in college was a quad ... he was against pulling the plug because he was very catholic (also against stem cell research), but it was purely a personal decision, someone else might decide the other way.

I don't see what is wrong with giving people a say in their own destiny. If the movie makes people more aware of these issues, I think it will have served a very valuable purpose.

I think the movie would have posed more of a moral quandery if she hadn't been able to communicate her desire.
