Turkey's refusal to allow passage didn't affect the deployment one iota. Why did the marines who were scheduled to follow the infantry deployed through Turkey go home and leave the relatively untrained infantry to police duties soon after the liberation? Your understanding of events displays a certain naivety. The rest is as valuable of an expression of your opinion.
