There is a guy in Seattle who was repeatedly molested by a teacher when he was in Jr. High and High School. When the kid got a bit older, in his 20's, he blew the teacher away. He was tried, his lawyer was convinced he would get off and advised him to reject a plea of manslaughter that would get him out of jail in about two years. He was convicted of 2d degree murder and spent, I think, 9 years in prison. He's out now, trying to make something of his life, with some difficulty. Oh yes, he sued the attorney for malpractice and settled for an undisclosed amount. He sued the school district, represented by a friend of mine, and just settled that case. Anyone who thinks that a teacher/student sexual relationship can be a benign thing should talk to this guy.
