War rhetoric increasing. Not unexpected.

"Bush told reporters when asked how US would react if Israel attacked nuclear-armed Iran: We are trying to solve problem diplomatically. But if I was Israel’s leader and heard ayatollahs’ statements I would be concerned too.

Israel is our ally and we will support Israel if its security is threatened. We hope to develop with Europe and Israel a strategy for this issue. US president added: I would like to see progress on a democratic Palestinian state so that there will be peace with Israel – in that order."

Lots of jockeying and hopeful thinking in regards to the the makeup of Iraq's government. This from Debka.

And today, more talk and warnings about infiltration of Al Qaeda agents from Mexico, sleeper cells, and the subtle equating of Al Qaeda with Iran and WMDs.

It seems to me that once again, the spectre of imminent attack on the US will be part of the justification for whatever action is to come. Fear is among the most powerful (and easiest) emotions that can be summoned. It worked well in the past, and will work just as well again in the future.
