From Fleck's reader: I keep an ear out among my less-well-to-do friends to spot the tops (worked like a charm when they were all day trading in July of 1999). In the last seven days (1) a bartender I know hit me up to buy some investment property because "eveyone is just filpping them like crazy and making lots of money" (she just got her real estate license 3 weeks ago). (2) My neighbors (three brothers, one of whom just declared bankruptcy) are talking about buying a house and getting an interest-only loan (one of them briefly worked for a mortgage company and thinks he knows what he is doing) and (3) a friend of mine who I thought was intelligent, sold his reataurant in Chicago, moved down here to Florida and has decided against opening another restaurant as he originally planned. Instead, he just got his real estate license and is going to "just buy houses and flip them". All three of these happened within a week. All here in central and SW Florida. Let the top be called.
