Here was an interesting email I got today from the company:

We have received many calls asking for clarification on the Department of Homeland Security funded AOAC study on anthrax tests.

The results are in, and the only hand-held system approved for detection of anthrax is RAMP. All other commercially available hand-held rapid anthrax detection systems tested failed to meet DHS/AOAC performance standards.

The task force responsible for this long awaited evaluation was comprised of 50 experts on anthrax, assay development, validation study design, and statistics. These experts came from 36 federal and 9 military agencies. Contributing parties include:

Department of Homeland Security
Department of Defense
Food and Drug Administration
Health and Human Services/Centers for Disease Control
US Postal Service
Federal Bureau of Investigation, and
Representatives of state and municipal agencies, academia, and first responders.
The RAMP System, one of 5 hand-held systems tested, underwent exhaustive study in 12 different laboratories. Only RAMP performed to DHS/AOAC standards.

According to James Bradford, Executive Director of AOAC International, "The RAMP System performed well in this rigorous evaluation, and that says quite a lot about it."

If you are using a commercially available field anthrax detection test other than RAMP, your system does not meet the Performance Standards set by DHS/AOAC.

To help you make the switch to RAMP, for a limited time we are offering an UpGrade Credit towards the purchase of your RAMP Starter Kit.

Take advantage of RAMP's UpGrade Credit today and save!
