Why do you think he's making a mistake?

Partly because I don't think she'll ever be normal after 7 1/2 years in prison. Partly because I don't think you can build a positive long term relationship when every morning you look across the breakfast table and see the face of a person who was responsible for you spending those 7 1/2 years in prison -- that has to wear on you after awhile. Partly because I suspect one reason he's marrying her is because he likes the media spotlight and the excitement of being a public figure and getting TV interviews and all, and in a few years all that will be gone and forgotten and all he will be left with is a 50 year old wife who, even if he isn't (and he may well be) is herself damaged goods. Partly because while I think sexual liaisons between people of such different ages can be fun for both parties (heck, look at Clinton and Monica; Hemingway and all his young chicks; Hugh Hefner and all his ... need I go on?), when it comes to marriage and living with that person day in and day out for the rest of your life, it's another thing entirely. Disparity in age can be fine when it's a fling. Not so fine, IMO, when it's forever.

As to whether he's been harmed, we've been over this several times. It's more likely than not that he has been, but OTOH I've seen him on TV several times and if he is he sure isn't showing it. So I think the jury is out on that one.
