Ingram Micro and Newbridge Networks Sign Comprehensive Distribution Agreement
Newbridge industry-leading networking products to strengthen Ingram Micro's telecom initiative
SANTA ANA, California and HERNDON, Virginia, Sept. 3 /CNW-PRN/ - Ingram Micro Inc., the world's largest distributor of technology products and services, announced today that it has signed a distribution agreement with Newbridge Networks, a global leader in communications networking solutions. The agreement is a strategic move for both companies, bolstering Ingram Micro's portfolio in its newly formed Telecom Integration Division while strengthening the Newbridge channel. Under the terms of the agreement, Ingram Micro now carries the full line of Newbridge high-performance wide area and local area (WAN and LAN) internetworking products, enhancing its portfolio of end-to-end networking solutions for the converging WAN and LAN markets.
The Newbridge(R) MainStreet(R) products feature a multiservice WAN architecture that supports the integration of asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), frame relay, X.25 and time division multiplexing (TDM) technologies. A suite of network management products provides seamless management of integrated voice, data, video and multimedia applications. Additionally, the Newbridge suite of products includes the VIVID(TM) system, the only MPOA-based layer 3 switching solution available today for more scalable, manageable enterprise networks.
