<<It isn't the Taser it's the users of any weapon. Guns are acceptable, tasers aren't. Go figure>>

The differance being Guns are regulated and considered lethal weapons...TASR claims their weapons are NOT lethal, hence no restrictions on it's use and more then that...a false sense of security for those that are 'misusing' them.....If you are told it is non lethal, you are more likely to use the weapon and more likely to also misuse the weapon, imo.

The best thing for TASR, imo, would be for the gov't to declare them as lethal and regulate them as they do with guns....For one, it takes the liability away from TASR...nobody can sue them because their weapon did this or that....Next, it allows their target market to buy without fear. Right now by claiming they are non lethal, but with that issue being iffy and up for debate, alot of their potential buyers are holding off...if they were declared as lethal and regulated, they would not hold off on buying them and IMO, TASR sales would take off...after all, it is still less lethal then a gun, and the weapon can be a very valuable tool, if used correctly and regulated.....so, WHY TASR keeps pushing to stay NON Lethal is beyond me....Regulate them and declare then as lethal and all their problems would be gone, no more liability or safety issues to worry about and sales at record paces would occur, imo, as there would be no reason for anybody to hold off on buying them and all the folks harping on their safety would have to stop....and regulated, cops, prison guards or anybody else that misuses the weapon would be punished accordingly, curbing misuse to a degree.....as it is, you can go in store and use a TASR to rob them, and they can charge you with robbery, but not many other serious charges, related to using a lethal weapon. Regulated, robbers would get same charges as if they used a gun..and regulated, we wouldn't have to worry about all the kids zapping the neighborhood animals or that other kid for looking at his girl...sure, there will be some misuse, but regulated and declared lethal is the way for TASR to go, imo.
