Gus > But why would the devaluation of the euro entail "economic growth"?
Look no further than at dear old Uncle Sam. The US devalues the dollar, so far by 30%, prints money like there's no tomorrow, maintains interest rates at a sniff above nothing, runs debts which can never ever be repaid, manufactures mainly lies and dishonest politicians, exports mainly jobs, imports anything and everything like like crazy, makes wars it can't afford -- and then says the economy is "growing" rapidly -- and without noticeable inflation or deflation. The US is truly an economic "miracle".
> Would the EU suddenly be manufacturing cheap cell phones? plastic toys? flat computer screens? At best, a lot of call centers would be moved out of Morocco, Senegal, India,... and relocated in France, Germany, Italy,...
Who cares? Just so long as they are printing money. That's the gripe -- they are not printing enough.
> all would have to adjust to a workforce whose aggregate income has been trimmed down to that of a third-world developing country!!! Europeans would realize that... they're poor!? God forbid!
That's in the Old World. In the New World all that is needed is a printing press and a political Mafia -- and everything falls into your lap. |
