There isn't a whole lot you can do about genetics (at this point, without genetic therapy). I agree with his conclusion, that BEHAVIORAL and DIETARY factors are controllable. Changes in diet alone have lengthened the lives of animal models. This is irrefutable. What is your concern with the premise? Are you the owner of an industrial food manufacturer? We should not eat healthy and all will be fine? That is very unlikely and doesn't explain why AMERICANS are alone in this level of obesity and metabolic disease (generally higher than any developed, developing or third world country). It isn't the fact that our immune systems are under attack by chemical companies that are almost unchecked or that agribusiness is constantly pushing cheap industrial-quality foodstuffs onto the marketplace? Are THEY going to fund the research? Believe me they already know! No, let's all get reactionary and go after the few people that are out there making some recommendations that we take personal responsibility and ownership for our diseases and do something positive to change that. Second thought, eat what you like but you probably shouldn't expect the rest of America to take it lying down.
