Why 2050?

As for the shape of the pool, we have some control over that. We don't have to take Muslims if we don't want to. We're in a position to cherry pick. Lots of young people would love to become Americans. How about Russians? Betcha we could fill our immigration needs easily from that one country alone. And what makes you think that Europeans wouldn't come if we opened the doors? Just because "Europe won't have an excess of population" doesn't mean that the population they have wouldn't come if we invited them. How about Argentinians? Or Georgians. They'd come. Zimbabwe's a likely source. What about Canada? Or Iceland? No, I don't think we have to take what's offered, we can have what we like.
