Minco Appoints New CFO in China

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 18, 2005) - Minco
Mining & Metals Corporation ("MINCO") (TSX:MMM) is pleased to announce
the appointment of Ellen Wei as Chief Financial Officer of it's wholly
owned Chinese Subsidiary, Minco Mining (China) Corporation. Ms. Wei is a
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the United States and China. She
was the formal Controller of Dragon Pharmaceuticals Inc. Ms. Wei will be
responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of all the company's
activities in China.
