OK, I see. Yes, nakedness has nothing to do with it and can't be inferred from the case. It is the severity of the margin call that was being masked. The cleverness of the scheme is matched only by its deviousness. I am surprised they were able to pull it off for so many months. Thanks for the clear explanation.
