Gus, Iranians will be the only victims. They remember me of the guy who pointed the gun at himself and screamed "don't make me pull the triger!"

Putin will take their money, and so does France! But the Dice has been cast, I am afraid. Iran leaves on borrowed time! It is not question of what they do or they don't, Bush second terms will be an end for both Syria and Iranian regimes, at least the present state! How it will happen, or how these governement will be changes, if the change will be internal or will come about from and external action will no longer matter. What matters is that they are doomed!

Would Russians defend Iran? I doubt it. An nuclear Iran on the ex-Soviet borders that are still defended by Russians troops is too dangerous for the Russians. Azerbaijan, Turkmenstan, and Tadjikstan are expolsive republics. On the other side of Kazakhstan Agip KCO (consortium composed of BP, Royal Dutch, EXXON-Mobil, Total-Fina-Elf, ENI SpA) is developing the Kaskhagan Field that has a big a potentials as anything ever found in the Middle East. Nothing separetes the field from the Iranians but the waters of the Caspian Sea. Too much risk of un-rest. Russia has every interest to allow US to do the work for them.
