Maybe some of the biblical literalists would be able to laugh. But the creationists/intelligent design crowd would have to rethink and regroup. They've been looking for a silver bullet for the Darwinians for a long time. But every time they think they have a good club, it mutates into a ham sandwich. In the early '80s, they used birds as killer evidence that Darwinian evolution couldn't occur. Because the intermediate forms wouldn't be as well adapted as the hypothetical original or the later true birds. But since those fossils in China have enabled us to put together a timeline of plausible development with reasonably well adapted intermediate forms, they've dropped that argument. Now they've hit upon the flagellum as the Darwinian killer. I admit, that seems like a tough one, but so did birds 20 some odd years ago...
