They have never annoyed me before. Going to firefox has opened my eyes

Most of the egregious behavior is beneath the radar of ordinary consumers. But MS makes IT pros' lives difficult, because MS doesn't like Windows to play with anything other than MS solutions. "Embrace and extend" - MS says their products are "standards-compliant", but they extend the protocols, for example, so key functionality is proprietary and true standards-compliant OS's or software are crippled when trying to interoperate with Windows or other MS software. So if you want all the bells and whistles and fewer headaches, you have to use Windows NT on your servers. That's why MS is considered an abusive monopoly in IT - it leverages its desktop dominance into the server room, where it is an inferior and less flexible product.
