Your nostalgia for the days when Democrats had a valid claim for supporting the middle class is touching. The Democrat party has become the party of the ultra rich and the poor. The ultra rich need mindless robots to buy their movies and to work in the movie theaters. The poor are happy being dependent on the largess of Democrats.

Republicans are now the party that helps the middle class. Republican polices benefit the majority of the people. Democrat policies only benefit minute constituencies.

The worship of the pristine hurts Americans who would otherwise have a job. Labor unions cause companies to underperforms foreign competitors reducing the need for American labor; this self limiting behavior eliminates unions in the long run. Activist judges ignore environmental laws, labor laws, and regulations of any sort because what is good for Democrats is good for Democrats, and that is an end which justifies the means.
