It depends on what you mean by "stability". These developments raises the possibility of little brush wars in the unallied countries as the three power blocs jockey for influence. And each one of those is a potential real confrontation between the backers.

I'd prefer if the power blocs competed economically. That has a greater chance of raising most of the countries out of poverty. This means they will be ground even further down with even less hope. Not a positive in my book....
