I have participated in resource discussion groups on numerous forums. The oil and gas boards seem to attract supporters based on the demand side of the equation that results from economic growth. The gold boards seem to attract some who think that the economic world is coming to an end - and seem to hope it does. I see gold and oil as commodities that go through cycles - with now being up cycles for each to profit from. I see free markets as the key to adjusting the imbalances that currently exist in world trade. I am totally confident that if free markets are allowed to work all the "horrible problems" will be resolved with an overall growth in world prosperity - a growth that investors in natural resources can profit greatly.
