Study finds that California is home to 11 of the least affordable housing markets. California's housing affordability continues to decline as the state now contains 11 of the least-affordable markets in the nation, according to the NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Opportunity Index for the Third Quarter, 2004. The report, released Jan. 6, followed a day after Gov. Schwarzenegger's State of the State Address, in which he pledged to solve the state's housing crisis. The revised index also found that 25 of the 43 least affordable markets are found in California. See graph below.
