<couldn't get much of anything done> On the contrary -- he oversaw the most brilliant move in modern times to reduce the deficit rather than engage in massive spending or massive tax cuts -- something Bush does not grasp. Clinton set the stage for a remarkable period -- one that led to excess to be sure, but one that was most certainly boosted by his wise policy on tax and spending issues.
