Yes, he cut the deficits, passed NAFTA and welfare reform. Three moderate republican pieces of legislature that the republicans let him pass. And there, I think, we may end his list of accomplishments (no, I do not want to rehash any of the scandals). He notably did not pass healthcare reform or any of his bright shining 'put people first' proposals.

No. Clinton entered the stage at a remarkable period, with the economy already coming out of recession and poised to collect the peace dividend after the fall of the Soviet Union. Much of Clinton's peace dividend, particularly the evisceration of the intelligence services, does not show so well today in the wake of 9/11.
