Well, there have been a lot of wars between nations since 1648, so the above comment (making it sounds like the US has changed the basis of the opaque, mysterious concept of international law) is a bunch of hogwash.


International law did not develop over night. It took centuries. By the mid/late 20th century, however, international law was firmly planted. Only corrupted, authoritarian gov'ts openly ignored or violated it.
