Is there a graph based on past epidemics showing virus kill ratios?

i.e. from the first notice of the epidemic to day three, day three to day seven, day seven to day ten to world wide spread?

I suppose if it only causes a certain amount of damage in the first week it can be predicted to take a limited world wide toll.

Is that how these things are second guessed or predicted?
