Clinton did only one major thing right -- and that is all he needed to get right to put the economy on track to enjoy a prolonged period of high growth with low inflation. What he did was to realize that the deficit would eat us alive if we did not do something about it pronto. So he did something about it. Bush on the other hand is surrounded by ideologues so out of touch with reality that they have themselves convinced that the reckless deficits that have ballooned during the Bush years are no big deal. We will pay, and more so our children will pay dearly for this mess.
